AS THE OCCUPANCY PLANNING LEAD I WORKED WITH SENIOR MANAGEMENT TO DESIGN THE OFFICE OF THE FUTURE. THE DESIGN INTENT WAS TO ATTRACT AND RETAIN MILLENNIAL WORKERS WITH OPEN FLOOR PLANS AND ENGAGING WORK ZONES. BY PLACING THE WORKSTATIONS ON THE PERIMETER OF THE BUILDING WE MAXIMIZE SEATING AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NATURAL LIGHT. DESIGNED ON A GRID, THE LAYOUT ALLOWS FOR EASY RENOVATION OF THE CORE OFFICES TO CREATE SPECIALTY LAB AND CONFERENCE ZONES AS PROGRAM NEEDS ARISE.
Work for the Merrill Lynch, Stamford CT branch office included original space planning, furniture and finish selections, and construction documents followed by construction project management.
USING THE PRESENTATION TEMPLATES i created from the company letterhead, i was able to provide the client and later general contractor DETAILED furniture and finish SPECIFICATIONS.
This project included a direct design contract with the end-user who had leased a two-story warehouse bay. An HVAC company with need for warehouse space, the client requested a first floor build-out splitting the space into an office and small shop area while outfitting the second floor for subleasing.
I conducted programming meetings with the client resulting in the finalized floor plan shown here. This contract included architectural finish selections, creation of construction documents, and construction project management.
Scanned from original hardcopy portfolio.
This project included an original space plan and construction documents for the renovation of the Reception Area, the main Conference Room and the adjacent Break Room as contracted by the landlord. It resulted in a direct contract with the end-user for finish, furniture, and appliance selections. The redesigned Conference Room serves as the backdrop for all television press conferences.
Using the company letterhead, I created original presentation templates to best convey finish selections, detailed specifications, and appliance selections. The templates became a standard for Design Projects and served as an easily manipulated and sharable resource, and a quick means of creating a Spec Binder for the general contractor.
This project was a tenant build-out for an Information Technology Business. Inspired by the office design of a similar company, the client brought a magazine article as a starting point discussing a desire to have a small, well-planned space that would serve all major business functions.
Included in the design presentation were color Photoshop renderings created from CAD elevations. Presented here is a segment of the full CD set, the Restroom and Millwork details and elevations.
Mixed Media presentation board. Digital background professionally printed and mounted to foam core. Hard copy finish samples recessed into the foam core and surface-mounted images of architectural finishes applied to the board via velcro. This finish board was designed to be cost effective and easily edited while going through the lengthy, high-level design process.
Contracted to design the Merrill Lynch Headquarters in Washington DC, this project included original design work, construction documents, a formal design presentation, finish and furniture specifications. Featured here are the original renderings that I created for the design presentation. Photoshop renderings from CAD drawings.
These digital finish boards are excerpts from a digital finish proposal created for review by the Dulles Airport Facilities Management Team. Basic layout created in AutoCAD and finalized in Photoshop using scans of the approved finishes.
I created this finish board as an aid for the landlord's leasing division. Showing the selected Finish Standards, tenants would have limited ability to customize the interior finishes of their suite.
Mixed Media finish board. Digitally-created background with full-color renderings professionally printed and mounted on foam core. Hard copy samples attached to and recessed into the printed board.
